 ~ The Lois Orswell Environmental Award ~ In June 2005, the Conservation Commission presented its second annual Lois Orswell Environmental Award 2004 to Hannah McMerriman for starting a local "Roots and Shoots" Club. In June 2006, The Conservation Commission presented its third annual Lois Orswell Environmental Award 2005 to Matt Desrosiers, Eagle Scout, for his project for the Audubon, and co-receipents Clifford Buttermark and Johathan DuPaul for the Pomfret Cemetery Project. The Pomfret Conservation Commission will be presenting its fifth annual Lois Orswell Award for Environmental Awareness. We will be honoring Mr. Ben Williams and Ms. Debbie Mansell. . The ceremony will be held at the Old Town House on Town House Road in Pomfret. The garden party will begin at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 5, 2008. Rain or Shine. Refreshments will be served and the public is invited. |
