    The function of the Pomfret Board of Finance is to consider and maintain the overall financial condition of the town, assuring the maximum value in services and reasonable taxation of its citizens. The Board of Finance accomplishes this function by the following means.
  1. Preparing the annual town budget.
  2. Setting the property tax rate.
  3. Periodically reviewing the performance against the budget.
  4. Approving deficiency and special appropriations and transfers between appropriations.
  5. Establishing how town financial records are kept and reviewed.
  6. Providing an annual audit of town accounts.
  7. Publishing an annual town report.
